Katju versus the media

Press Council chairman Justice Markandey Katju managed to clog timelines once again with his critical comments about the media. This time around, he attacked the prominence given by a number of newspapers to coverage of actor Dev Anand's death. Journalist Rahul Kanwal reacted with this tweet: 'Now Justice Katju wants to know why the media is giving prominence to Dev Anand's death on the front page. Maybe he should just start his own paper!' According to Siddharth Chhaya: 'I think Justice Katju was not allowed to watch movies in his younger days.'u00a0

A number of people decided, for some reason, to share tweets of 'things that should stop.' Examples cited included everything from 'animal cruelty', 'racism' and 'racial profiling' to 'beautiful women being insecure', 'the confusion between you're and your', 'obsession with money and material items' and 'people confusing their followers on Twitter with fans.'
