First-ever trip of the AC double-decker train service between Mumbai and Goa runs into trouble after Central Railways train staff walks off at Roha station
In what could be an embarrassing turn of events for Indian Railway, miscommunication and lack of coordination led to goof up on the first double-decker AC train running on the Mumbai-Goa route on August 22.

The incident took place after the train staff, including the locomotive pilot, assistant pilot and guard, walked off at Roha station on the grounds that their operational duty schedule had been completed.
The 8-coach train left on the schedule from Kurla Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and reached Roha station at around 8.35am after what the officials stated was a 10-minute delay.
But, the drama unfolded here with the train crew walking off.
"The train was stalled till 9.45am," said a CR official on condition of anonymity.
Sources in Central Railway say the Konkan Railway authorities were informed that as per the recent notification the operational halt was to be made at Roha, while the KR authorities argue that it was to be made at Ratnagiri. In this confusion, it was the passengers whose first trip on the AC double decker train was ruined.
Konkan Railways later sent a replacement driver, who drove the train to its destination before Konkan Railways took over.
Meanwhile, KR officials said that as per the official note sent by CR, it stated that they would require replacement of guard. "Before giving permission to ply on Konkan rail, we had put the condition that the crew would belong to Central Railway," said a KR official on condition of anonymity.
This special premium train has been started to clear the Ganpati festival rush during this period. mid-day had earlier reported about the poor conditions under which the train was stabled at Mulund where miscreants had damaged the coach from the outside.
