LED boards to enlighten commuters at train station

They will present information about train timings, ticket fares and details about various routes

The din and bustle at railway stations often lead to the message getting lost – the key ones are obviously those that the authorities are trying to pass on to passengers.

To bring more clarity, Pune railway division is now going to install LED information boards at all the 50 train stations under its jurisdiction.

Each of these stations will have one LED board, barring Pune railway station that will have four. The approximate budget for these boards is around Rs 2 lakh and later their number will increase.

Elaborating about the initiative, Pune divisional railway manager Suneet Sharma told MiD DAY, “We are now completely focussed on cleanliness and improvement of facilities for passengers. Considering this is a major division and Pune station is a vital facility, we decided to upgrade our old information boards with LED ones.”

The boards will be installed at both the main gates and other important spots inside Pune station premises. They will display information about train schedules, ticket fares and details about various routes of trains. The particulars on these boards would also be easily visible at night.
