“For an education society, Prashant Bhushan has bought a tea estate under Article 118. It is a rule that one has to hold activities within a period of two years. The tea estate cannot be used for other activities; it can only be given for tea production. He has violated both the rules,” he said.
“We have asked the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra to investigate. They said that they have given him a notice regarding the violation. Government will take a decision after the report of the deputy commissioner. This is not a political vendetta or vengeance,” he added.
Prashant Bhushan founded an educational institution in Palampur, to educate the youth on public policy.
The institute is managed under the Kumud Bhushan Education Society.
The BJP government in 2010 had allowed the Kumud Bhushan Educational Society to buy the tea-estate land at Kandwari near Palampur in Kangra district.
