The four days long weekend has resulted in traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Thursday morning with vehicles moving at a snail's pace.
When contacted the control room of Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the officer said, "The traffic is slow on Mumbai to Pune expressway from Thursday morning around 11.30 am due to four days holiday with travellers coming from Mumbai to Lonavala, Pune and Konkan. We have deployed additional bandobast and if needed we will be utilising one of the lane of Pune to Mumbai expressway for Mumbai to Pune. We have not diverted any traffic."
The long holiday weekend begins with Holi on Thursday, followed by Good Friday and then the fourth Saturday of the month and Sunday.
