250 employees of financial firm lock up region head, stage dharna to protest unpaid salaries for 2 months
Anjali Saini (25) dreamt of a good life when she shifted to Delhi from her hometown Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
With a dream job at a financial firm and a monthly salary of Rs 17,000, Saini seemed well on her way to the top. But then her dream shattered.

On Thursday night, Saini joined about 250 colleagues to protest the non-payment of two months's salaries.

Cheating
Employees of Unicon Investment Solution, Moti Nagar, stopped work and locked the main gate of the office. They alleged the company had cheated them by making them work for two months without salaries.
Subir Chaudhary, business head of Unicon Investment Solution, said, "The due date for our salary was July 7.

When that wasn't met, we were promised in writing that we would get it on July 16. But nothing happened.

Many senior colleagues, including the assistant vice president of the company, Nancy Budhirajau00a0 have quit."

Around 70 female employees too had joined the protesters and were readying to stay on till late.

Vikas Mallan, senior chief financial officer of the company, said, "Our Moti Nagar branch has not been performing well and most of the employees were hired on commission basis.

Though they generated business worth Rs 30 lakh, payment of about Rs 18 lakh couldn't be realised. Now, they'll only be paid if they get more business. We will not shut the branch."
