An MBA student returned home from Mysore on Wednesday only to find his roommate hanging from the ceiling fan. MB Avinash (pictured), a student at the Bangalore Institute of Technology in V V Puram, had moved in with his classmate Bhanu Prakash in Ramanjaneya Temple Road in Hanumanth Nagar just a few days ago.
His roommate who returned from vacation called the cops Wednesday night after he realised something was wrong. When the cops made their way into the boy's room they found Avinash dead.
Sub inspector Ravi Kumar, from Hanumanth Nagar Police Station, said, "We have ruled it as a suicide. It seems that he had trouble with his studies and when he couldn't handle the pressure he hung himself."
Nirmala, the landlady, said, "We hardly ever saw them because they would just go to college in the morning and come back in the evening. We didn't even have them sign a rent agreement because they were just students."
Avinash's body has been taken back to Tiptur, in Tumkur district. His college remained shut for the day.
