The Delhi airport is becoming a friendlier place, especially for the physically challenged and minors traveling alone.
The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has launched a special service to help the physically challenged and unaccompanied minors. The service, named Contact Zone, has been started at the international terminal and will soon be extended to the domestic terminal as well.
"The service will include wheelchair assistance for physically challenged passengers and guidance for unaccompanied minors. A help booth has been established near Gate No 1 of Terminal 2," said DIAL spokesperson Arun Arora.
So far, only airlines provided this service. But passengers often had to face difficulties as those accompanying them were not allowed inside the terminal. "The Contact Zone is aimed at bridging this gap. It will guide the passenger through the airport till the airline officials can take charge," added Arora.
