The incident took place at Saket's Select Citywalk mall. Three accused held, released on bail

Three persons were held at Saket's Select Citywalk mall on Sunday after they broke the boom barriers and beat up security personnel in a bid to flee with their car without showing a parking slip. The accused, identified as Amarjeet Singh, Jube Dhingra and Thiru Murrgan, were travelling in luxury cars. They were arrested and later released on bail.

Where is the slip?
A senior police officer said, "Amarjeet had come to the mall with a woman and three other friends, who were in another car. They parked the cars but lost the parking slip for one. Around 8 pm, they reached the boom gate, where the cashier, Ramudgar, asked Amarjeet to show the parking slip. The latter said he had lost it somewhere. After that Ramudgar told him to show his car papers for verification. The driver refused to comply."

"The cashier then informed Abdul, a colleague, about the incident. Abdul shortly reached the spot and told the driver to show his car papers. The driver then started abusing him and tried to flee from the spot and also broke the barricade by hitting it with the car.

Security officials of the mall managed to nab him. Meanwhile the accused's friends in another car also reached the spot and blocked the road. Abdul then made a PCR call and police arrived at the scene," he added.

A senior police official said that they sent a police team to the mall after getting a PCR call about the scuffle. The accused clashed with the police team.

Above the law?
"We are NRIs; you cops don't have the right to arrest us," they allegedly said.
