The Anti-Organised Crime Cell ( North ) of the city seized four antique gold biscuits weighing 310gm each and arrested a sub contractor identified as Vinod Sukhlal Dali of Sadhna Sagar building, flat 6/A, Chinchwad. Dali who is originally from West Bengal had allegedly hidden gold biscuits with him without informing the Government agencies.

The police said Dali had struck gold while carrying out digging work of Survey No 82 in Gandhi Peth, Chinchwad in 2009. Dali and labourers working at the sight stumbled upon a copper container containing five antique gold biscuits, said the police.
The police said the biscuits had National Bank of India name carved on it in English and Gujarati and bore the tag of Mucatta and Goldsmid bullion brokered London.
As per the tip-off received by Police Inspector Satish Govekar they arrested Dali on March 22 from Gandhi Peth while he was in the process of shipping the biscuits. The mark on the biscuits shows that they were made in 1864 and belonged to the British era.
Dali was arrested by a team including Additional Commissioner (Crime) Anant Shinde API Arvind Gokule, PSIs Majid Sheikh, Vilas Palande, Arun Bhutkar, Raghunath More, Popat Gaikwad, Nasir Patel, and Satish Kamble.
The police arrested Dali under Ancient Monuments Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 section 30.
