An unidentified pedestrian died on the spot when he was crushed between two Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses while attempting to cross the road near Kempegowda Bus station last night around 8 pm.

An unidentified pedestrian died on the spot when he was crushed between two Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses while attempting to cross the road near Kempegowda Bus station last night around 8 pm.

The body has been shifted to the Victoria Hospital morgue and the police are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased since there were no documents on his person at the time of death. Upparpet traffic sub inspector Mallaiah, said, "The bus knocked down a pedestrian while he was crossing the road. The victim is aged between 25 and 30 years and his skull was crushed in the accident. So far we have not been able to identify him.

We have seized the bus and arrested the driver and a complaint has been filed. we are trying to trace his family." Arrested driver Tirumalappa (55) said that he was not at fault and the accident occurred because of a mistake on the part of a driver of another bus, which was in front of his bus.

"While coming out of the bus stand, the road is steeply inclined.u00a0I had stopped my vehicle as there was another bus in the front. Meanwhile, a man came between the two buses and the bus in front suddenly rolled back, crushing him against my bus," he said.

In another accident on Hennur-Nagawara Road around 11.45 pm last night, three persons died and two others were injured in what police are saying is a case of drunk driving resulting in a high speed collision into a tree.

The bodies have been shifted to Bowring Hospital mortuary and the injured have been shifted to a private hospital. The police are still trying to identify them and trying to contact their family members.

A case has been registered at Banaswadi Traffic police station.
