Dinesh Kumar (25), a mobile store salesman from Sultanpet Cross in Cottonpet was brutally murdered close to his home around 8.45 pm yesterday evening. Kumar, a native of Bheenmar, lived with his four brothers in Cottonpet, was stabbed to death.
Kumar was speaking to his younger brother Mahinder (18) on his cell phone when he was attacked. His cousin Mansar told this reporter, "He was asking our younger brother to get vegetables when it happened. We still haven't told his wife. We'll tell her after his body is released from the hospital."
Kumar's body was found by his brothers and taken to Victoria Hospital at 10.45 pm where he was declared dead. Mansar added, "He had no enemies. I don't know why he was killed like this. All his belongings were taken too his mobile and wallet are gone."
Inspector RP Gopal from the Cottonpet Police Station said, "It is still unclear why he was killed and by whom. He bled to death after he sustained injuries on the back of his left thigh." He added, "We have no suspects yet but should know more by this evening."
