Former superintendent of Pune rural police Sandip Karnik yesterday informed a judicial commission that he did not call for the ballistic report for the bullets which killed demonstrators on August 9 last year during a farmer agitation in Baur
The information surfaced when Advocate Vinayak Abhyankar, representing the farmers, cross-examined Karnik. The lawyer said such a report would have helped prove whose bullets had hit the farmers. Abhyankar added that Karnik did not call for the report even though he was holding the charge of superintendent of Pune rural till September 1.
