Medical staff felicitated for prompt service during Anant Chaturdashi

Doctors and ambulance drivers who worked round-the-clock during the two-day visarjan procession were felicitated by traffic officials at Police Commissionerate

The sincere efforts of all the doctors and ambulance drivers who served the citizens during Anant Chaturdashi were paid off after the Traffic police officials joined hands with the fire brigade services and para-medical staff to felicitate them at a function held at the Pune Commissionerate, yesterday

The programme was organised in association with Universal health Foundation, Arogya.com and Positivesathi.com. Deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Vishwas Pandhare, who appreciated the contribution of the medical staff, said that during the immersion procession, 12 ambulances were placed at some key points in the city to attend to any medical situation. Since there were doctors and first aid kits in all ambulances, devotees and constables who fainted or complained of uneasiness were promptly provided medical aid.

During the procession, about 400 people and one deputy level police officer received timely medical aid.
This initiative was implemented this year after people complained that reaching hospitals during festivals was almost impossible with traffic, police barricades and extra security at every nook and corner.

At the function, Dr Rajendra Jagtap of Universal Health Foundation, who was among the felicitated doctors, said, "On September 11, with 12 doctors, we attended as many as 400 calls from various places in the city and were able to provide timely medical help."

Certificates to medical staff
Dr Vijay Warad, Dr Prashant Chipade, Dr Shaymsundar Jagtap and Dr Parag Yadav were felicitated with certificates, along with ambulance owners and drivers Keshav Nana Kshirsagar, Balasaheb Katrajkar, Naeem Shaikh Noor Mohammad and Prakash Jadhav
