16-year-old girl was allegedly forced to tie the knot by workplace colleague

Marriage is no child's play. But Karamveer (35) had other ideas. He forcibly married 16-year-old Seema (name changed), a colleague at work. Seema was allegedly served food laced with sedatives when she had gone to visit a co-worker. The victim has now been rescued and Karamveer and a co-conspirator are in police custody.
Seema had joined a TV switch factory just 25 days before the incident. On the day she left for work at the usual time but didn't return home.

Though the incident occurred a while ago, Sumitra, the victim's mother, was inconsolable when asked about her daughter.

"My daughter is just 16. What will happen to her future? She had left the house at the usual time. When she did not return till evening, we started searching for her. We asked about her everywhere. We even went to her workplace, though we had never been there. We spoke to a woman named Usha. At the time we did not know she was Karamveer's main accomplice. I was unconscious for two days after her disappearance. My husband and relatives were searching for her tirelessly," she said.

After two months of exploration, Seema's younger sister received a call from her. The victim couldn't say much over the phone. She just mentioned an address in Gurgaon where she was probably at.

"When my sister called, her voice was shaking. I could hear Karamveer's nephew prompting her from the other side. He told me to bring my parents along. He also announced that Karamveer and Seema were married. So, we were only allowed to meet her. But while going to Gurgaon, we had also taken police personnel along, and the culprits were arrested on the spot," said Aarti, Seema's sister.

Seema was found, allegedly, with bruises on her body and her face was ghastly pale. She was unable to speak properly. She was stammering and appeared physically weak.

"Karamveer had paid Usha Rs 40,000 to make the victim unconscious and deliver her to him. We have arrested them. Both have confessed to their crime," said a police official.

Sisters Abduct Cousin

Two teenaged sisters and two others in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district were taken in custody recently for kidnapping their uncle's three-year-old boy for ransom. The two sisters, aged 17 and 18, abducted the boy from his home in Rafiqpura area, police said.
"One of the girls, resident of Garima Garden in Sahibabad, had Sep 29 gone to Rafiqpura to meet her maternal uncle, Ziauddin. There she hit upon the idea of kidnapping her uncle's son, Anis,"district police chief Raghubir Lal said. Anis was abducted and first kept at Akram's home in Seemapuri in Delhi. Later, he was shifted to the other sister's Garima Garden home. Ziauddin, a construction contractor, was contacted on phone by the abductors who demanded Rs.3 lakh for the boy's release.
On receiving a complaint, police tracked down the culprits and Anis was rescued.
