Sleuths suspect he could be a part of a terror network trying to execute an attack in the city.

Soroush Razmjooi, had come to India from Iran to study Law. He enrolled himself in the university of Mysore five years back.

After completing his course, Razmjooi was supposed to return to Iran but he applied for visa renewal stating that he wanted to continue his studies.

The certificate stated that Razmjooi has taken admission for the BBM course and also had the seal and signature of the college principal.

The requisition was sent to city commission office that forwarded the same to the special branch for verification.

The case was then handed over to Deputy Superintendent of police (special branch), Nirmala Harish who went to verify the antecedents with the college.

The Principal informed Harish that the certificate was fake and no student by that name had been enrolled in the college.

Further verification established Razmjooi was not staying at the Mysore address submitted to the city police.

Harish has filed a complaint with the Cubbon park police asking them to trace Razmjooi who has been missing since then.

"We suspect foul play as he would not have to forge the bonafide certificate to get visa extension," said the Cubbon park police, who are investigating the case.

"We would know the reason behind this crime, only when we apprehend him," said Cubbon park police Inspector H S Jagadish added.
