The guard, who was later recognised by family members to be Vikram Singh, was initially identified with the help of his steel ‘kada’ (bangle) on his right wrist.
Vikram went missing on August 14 and since then his mobile was switched off too. When he didn’t return home on August 14, his wife Vivah approached Malad police station and filed a missing person’s complaint.
On Tuesday, after investigations officials visited the cabin near Agarwal compound, where Singh was last seen. They found bottles of alcohol, and pornographic movies there.
Singh used to visit the cabin, as one of his junior guards would be positioned there. Incidentally, since the incident, the guard has also been absconding. Investigations also revealed that on the night of August 14, Singh had called a woman Baby Yadav to the same cabin.
“When we recovered his body we were not sure about his identity. Hence, we called his family members with his photograph. The family then recognised him owing to the kada he wore in his right hand,” said Inspector Chandrakant Gurav, Malad police station, adding, “We rushed his body to Bhagwati Hospital and are now waiting for the medical report, which will tell us the exact cause of death. On the basis of primary information, we have registered an Accidental Death Report.”
Sources from Malad police station also revealed that they suspect that Yadav played a role in the death, but could not comment further till she was arrested. u00a0
