On March 24, Kima, who works with a gaming startup, was returning from a church near Hanging Garden after attending the Sunday service. He later joined other youngsters from Mizoram to enjoy snacks from street vendors, when a police van drove past him and its driver yelled at them. “I was talking with a friend when that happened, and all I could hear were the words ‘Nepali’ and ‘Kathmandu’, Kima narrated on his blog mizohican.blogspot.in.

Taking serious note of the issue Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sadanand Date started an enquiry into the matter and gave its responsibility to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II), Nisar Tamboli.

“The issue was brought to the attention of joint commissioner of police for law and order and he has asked me to enquire into the matter. We are proceeding in the positive direction and should be reaching a conclusion soon,” said Tamboli. Sources in the police confirmed that the constable has been identified and action will be taken against him.
