Sunita Upadhyay, 46, mixed poison in the dinner given to her daughters Preeti, 24, and Ruchi, 18, Monday night, after which she ate the meal herself.
Sunita was the wife of Rakesh Kumar Upadhyay, who worked as an engineer with Bhushan Steels Ltd.
Police said Rakesh returned home in Sanjay Nagar around 7.30 p.m. Monday night, after which he had dinner and retired to his room.
Late at night, he woke up on hearing his wife and daughters vomiting. He rushed them to hospital, where they died.
Police said the woman took the step because of a family dispute.
"Prima facie, it seems to be a case of family dispute. However, investigation is on and the final reason can be determined only after it is complete," Ghaziabad Circle Officer-II Praveen Ranjan Singh said.
Incidentally, Rakesh's son had committed suicide in 2000 by hanging himself in his room.
His elder daughter Preeti was a teacher in a preparatory school, while Ruchi was a second-year college student.
