Not too many of us might have heard of Fire on Dawson, Glass Duo, Karmetik or even Minino Garay (unless you don't miss any story in The GUIDE).
Most of these international music bands and artistes are making their first-ever trip to India and heading straight to Mood Indigo, the annual cultural festival organised by IIT-Bombay, to perform for college students at the International Music Festival.
The festival will feature a Progressive Rock gig by German band Fire on Dawson (December 23, 4 pm-5.30 pm), Argentine percussionist Minino Garay (today, 3.30 pm -4.30 pm), and Karmetik (December 23, 1.30 pm-2.30 pm), a group that blends classical Indian music theory with a modern electronic and experimental groove.
But it's the Polish band, Glass Duo (December 21, 3 pm-4 pm), who create the sweetest of sounds on a glass harp of 57 glasses that can cover up to five octaves that's making us want to head back to college. The International Music Festival promises to be a fantastic event. If only we had a college identity card handy.
