It's time to let your doggie break free. At Crazy K9 Campers' weekend trip, you can let your canine scamper around without a leash, go splish-splosh near a waterfall and jump into a river with you. At Camp River Wild in Kolad, you have the luxury of roaming around a fully-booked campsite of 360 acres, with lush vegetation and a babbling brook in the backyard, for company. "In cities like Mumbai, it gets difficult to let your pet off the leash and allow them to have a good time," says Pooja Sathe-Gawande, a professional dog trainer who runs the group. "This is a good opportunity to socialise for the owners and their pets." And with the rains upon us, the monsoon madness camp also includes a trek and boating. Team up with your pooch and beat the other dogs at games like Treasure Hunt, or pick up a tip or two in the tricks training session. A volunteer from IDA (In Defence of Animals) will host a small talk on pet volunteering too.

Even as the country is knee-deep in football madness, crying hoarse for their favourite teams, few spare a thought for the forgotten footballers who represent India. In an attempt to capture the frustration felt by the Indian footballers who fail to get the support and encouragement from those who run the country, Kerala-born artist Riyas Komu has set up a site-specific installation: Subrato to C ufffdsar. This includes a 32-feet-long cement wall that divides the gallery into two areas. It throws open the question: What about the footballers from our own backyard? "Even when we root for the likes of Julio Cesar, we could move backwards a bit and try to appreciate our own Subratos," says Komu. "It is time to move back into the locker room and take a fresh look at the game that most of us love. When we join the world to celebrate the World Cup dreams, much of which is being played out on the television and other media,
we must open our eyes to other realities that are immediate to ourselves."

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's stories are far from complex, but the cinematic brilliance, honesty and stunning imagery that typify his films are a treat for any world cinema buff. A film festival organised by the Taj Enlighten Film Society showcases four of Majidi's films Baran, Color of Paradise, The Song of Sparrows and Father for four successive Sundays, starting day after.
