Mousumi Mukherjee Lal, sister-in-law of slain model Jessica Lal, is saying her estranged husband stole her household articles while she was away in Kolkata.

In a police complaint, Mousumi also claimed that her husband, Ranjith Kumar Lal Jessica's brotheru00a0had changed the lock to the house in HSR Layout in her absence, thus keeping her out.

She said she had returned on Friday to see the house locked. "I tried opening it with my keys but it did not work. When I informed my landlord, he told me to vacate the house since Ranjith Kumar Lal had taken possession of the house."

Landlord's threats

She alleged that the landlord supported her husband and had used foul language against her, "threatening me with dire consequences if I did not leave the house". The landlord even took the help of the police to get her to leave, she alleged.

u00a0"I was with my ailing father and since there was no one to help, I called my advocate. Soon, I realised that all my belongings including the gas cylinder, utensils, home theatre, crockery sets and bedsheets had been taken away."

Seeking security

"I was asked by the court to stay in the house and get maintenance from my husband. But these people are making my life difficult," she said in her complaint.

Mousumi sought security from the police not only from her husband but also from the landlord.

She had earlier filed a harassment complaint against her husband based on which the court issued an interim order, directing Ranjith to pay her maintenance.
