Anonymous pamphlets scattered on pavements of Mantri Mall accuse Dinesh Rao of being in cahoots with Mantri Developers; MLA says is all to tarnish his image
The ongoing tussle between Mantri Developers and the BBMP have given miscreants with a bent for mischief, a
field day. The miscreants have managed to drag the name of local MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao, into the controversy by randomly scattering anonymous pamphlets on the pavements of Mantri Mall.
Razed: The BBMP had demolished a 4 meter ramp of the Mantri Mall.

Rao, on the other hand, said that this is just the mischief of someone who wants to tarnish his image. First, visitors to the mall thought it was an advertisement gimmick being conducted by the developers themselves.
They later realised that the pamphlets accuse Rao of joining hands with the developers. Meanwhile, no action has been taken so far since the pamphlets have no mention of name and or address.
'Far from truth'
Rao was upset and said, "The accusations in the handbills are far from the truth. I did not prefer to react as some gutless person had done this. How can you expect me to react on some thing written by unknown persons. This is an attempt to tarnish my image," Rao said.
Officials of Mantri office where the pamphlets were found on the pavements did not want to get in any commotion and decided not to answer the media. Vice President Kiran Kumar said, "We don't know anything about the issue of the pamphlets."
Political motives?
A source in the Congress office party, "Rao is a strong candidate for the post of Bangalore Congress President. In few weeks, a report on who will be the chosen one will be out. It is evident by the timing that whoever is behind this mischief, does not want him to move on to the next level."
Earlier report
Mantri Developers were in the midst of controversy and had recently faced the demolition of 4 meters of ramp.
Later, they got a stay order, but Commissioner Siddiah said that the BBMP would ask the court to vacate the stay and allow demolition. The controversial land falls under the Gandhi Nagar Constituency from where Rao was elected in the assembly.u00a0
