Cops call it a simple mishap; eyewitness claims occupants were intoxicated

"Gaurav Arora, a resident of Vasant Kunj area, is the owner of the BMW car. He deals in the share market and has an office in the Connaught Place area.
His driver, Jay Prakash, was at the wheels and talking to a woman, an employee of Arora, when he lost control over the vehicle and rammed into an Innova car," a senior police officer said.u00a0 "It was a simple accident and the driver has been released with a challan of Rs.184," said a senior police officer.
However, eyewitness accounts to the incident tell a different story. "The driver was in an inebriated state and was driving at a speed in excess of 100 kmph," an eyewitness said.
But the police completely rejected the claim, saying had it been the case the driver would have been given stricter punishment.
