"I always wanted to make a career in acting. This title of world's shortest woman will take my career to new heights," Amge, who stands 62.8 cm tall. It was double celebration for Amge, who was given the title on Fridayu00a0-- her 18th birthday.

"I am really very happy that I was given this title. I cannot express in words, what this means to me," she said. "I am doing a Kannada film and will be shooting in Mysore soon. I will also be in Europe for two months in the coming summer," Amge added.
When asked if she would join an acting school, Amge said she knows the basics well and does not need to learn it. "I would do exactly what my director expects out of the scene. What is the need to learn something in a school when you know you will learn it much better on the job?" she asked.
Amge has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia that has restricted her height to that of an average two-year-old girl. She has just passed her Class X exam and intends to take up acting full time.
Amge was measured three times over, the day before she was conferred the title. Doctors at a city hospital measured her in the presence of Rob Molloy, the official adjudicator for the Guinness World Records.
The previous holder of the record for the title of the world's shortest living woman was 69.49 cm-tall Bridgette Jordan, from Illinois, in the US.
