If the Congress opposes this bill, then the nation will oppose Congress, every citizen and every businessman will oppose Congress. 'Congress is against the development of the nation, and they have established it by issuing a dissent note,' Jaitley told media persons here.
I hope Congress fixes their irresponsible behavior. Never have I seen a party giving a dissent note on something they proposed¿ We want the constitutional amendment on GST to be passed. Dissent note by Congress is hardly a dissent,¿ he added.
The select committee on Goods and Services Tax submitted its report in the Rajya Sabha earlier today with a proposal for three modifications to the Bill.
The second day of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament was marred today by opposition uproar amid demands for the sacking of tainted BJP ministers.
Following the logjam, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2 p.m today.
The Rajya Sabha could function for just eight minutes, after reconvening at 12:30 p.m. for a third time.
