The 17-year-old, who was also charged in the case since she had dumped the baby in the trash can and was sent to Dongri remand home, is now in a critical condition. She was shifted to a local hospital at Santacruz on Saturday morning since she was bleeding from her private parts and was in an unconscious state. Meanwhile, the child, who was admitted in a critical condition, is now out of danger.
Yadav and the minor were in a relationship following which the baby was born at a civic-run hospital in Santacruz. The couple had given a fake address and identity at the hospital. Police said that since Yadav didn’t want to kill the baby, the minor dumped her. Later, he went to the cops to inform them so that the child could be taken care of. But he was detained and based on his information the minor was arrested on Friday.
PSI Nilesh Bhujbal of Vakola police station said, “Yadav has been booked under section 376 (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for having sexual relationship with a minor. He was produced in the court and remanded to police custody. Further investigations are on.”u00a0
