Kalmadi's wife Mira was incommunicado; her PA Suresh Shelke said the only information he could share was that she was in Mumbai."Madam is in Mumbai and her son Sumir is in Delhi," Shelke said. "Weu00a0cannot divulge anything more."

Anant Gadgil, state Congress deputy president and party spokesman, said the MP should resign."I have always been opposing Kalmadi and his work in the CWG. It is time he should resign," he said. "Vilasrao Deshmukh and Shivajirao Nilangekar have had to resign from their posts before this. Even A R Antule and Ramrao Adik had to step down from their respective posts over corruption charges. Why should Kalmadi be spared?"

Vijay Kumbhar, president, Surajya Sangharsh Samiti, said whatever had happened with the CWG had also happened during the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in the city. "During CYG at Pune, Kalmadi had promised five-star accommodation and Rs 17.5 crore was spent on the living arrangements for the participants. His role in the 2008 CYG should also be probed," Kumbhar said.
