Shockingly, the police is yet to make any progress in the case. The Rahuri police station have registered a case under the Maharashtra Anti Ragging Prohibition Act 1999 under Section 3 and 4 of the Indian Penal Code foru00a0 abetment of suicide against the students named by the deceased's father.
DCP Dnyaneshwar Fadatare (Zone I) said, "The Rahuri police station is investigating the case. We will extend our full cooperation to them."
The DCP also added that they have written to the college administration, asking them about the incident.
Rahul Mhaske, city president of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), is planning to create an anti-ragging cell. "We are monitoring this case closely. It is shocking that no college has taken ragging seriously. We have appointed five lawyers to help in such cases."
