New Delhi: In a bid to check pollution in the national capital National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday said that no new diesel vehicles will be registered.

NGT also questioned the Delhi Government's odd-even formula for vehicles to and said that such a move may make people buy two cars.
The NGT further said that the formula may not achieve the desired purpose.
The Delhi government has announced that from the start of 2016, private vehicles with odd registration numbers will ply on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and with even numbers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The plan for Sundays is yet to be announced.

The decision came after widespread warnings that Delhi's air pollution had breached tolerable limits, and Delhi High Court ruled that the city had become like a 'gas chamber'.
