Police trace the laptop used to send sex clip to the four boys

The probe in the Noida MMS sex scandal has thrown up four new suspects. The Faridabad police have traced the laptop used to email the scandalous sex clip of a B-School student to four of her friends. Interestingly, three of the suspects alleged that they did not know Shaan Bawa, against whom an FIR had been lodged earlier.

The police said the laptop was connected to a Wi-Fi system. "The connection was in the name of a person called Anil Wats. We are investigating the matter further," a police official said, wishing anonymity.

MiD DAY had first reported about the MMS clip doing rounds of cellphones on February 18. An FIR was lodged against Bawa, who was accused of shooting and circulating the striptease video of his former girlfriend, following a complaint lodged by the victim's family that he was threatening to kill her.

Faridabad DSP, Ram Kumar Malik, said, "Charit Sharma, one of the four students who were questioned,u00a0 has confirmed his acquaintance with Bawa. The other three said they didn't know Bawa. We are further interrogating them. Proper action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the case."

So far, the police have not been able to gather much evidence against Bawa. "Even if we arrest him, he will walk free as there is not sufficient evidence against him," the official said. Both the boy and the girl are students of a Noida business school. It is claimed that he circulated the sex clip after the girl turned down his marriage proposal.
