Nothing dirty about it

He promises to bring gales of laughter with him. Stand up comedian Dan Nainan will be performing for the first time in Bangalore tonight. This, he says is his first visit to India.

Dan, with an Indian father and a Japanese mother says his favourite one liner is about applying at an IT company in the US. When he applied for a job, they said, "We don't need to interview you, you're Indian and Japanese."

On asking him what he is expecting of the Bangalore audience, he conceded "Bangalore is a very technologically savvy city and I come from a technologically savvy place and hopefully the audience will get my jokes."

Dan says he is influenced by Jerry Seinfeld who advised him to stay clean with his humour. "You can say my humour is clean. I don't offend people with my jokes, I don't do jokes on sex. Jerry told me years ago that this kind of humour would appeal to everybody and I stick to it," confesses Dan.

When we tell him there are four other stand-up comedians performing this weekend in the city, he acts like a real sport and quips, "We should all perform together then. As stand up comedians we're looking for as big an audience as possible and what could be better than all four of us performing together?"
The more the merrier!
