Four days after an Indigo airline pilot was held for submitting fake documents to get a flying permit, an Air India pilot was arrested in the capital for allegedly using forged marksheets to procure the flying licence
Captain J K Verma was apprehended late Saturday night after police carried out an investigation into a complaint filed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) which had claimed that some of the pilots had forged marksheets to get licence.
"We have arrested Verma and are carrying out investigations as two more pilots are under scanner in similar cases," a senior police official said.u00a0Police said that Verma had allegedly forged marksheets of Pilot License Examination for obtaining the licence. Sources said that the licenses of some 3,000 to 4,000 pilots were being scrutinised by DGCA.
