A 22-year-old man died in a road accident last night. Rahul Dutta Awad, a resident of Katraj, was on his way home around 9.30 pm on Pune-Satara road when a speeding car dashed into his motorcycle.
Awad fell off the bike because of the impact. Onlookers and bikers around took him to Sassoon Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Doctors on duty said that Awad succumbed to severe head injuries he suffered in the accident.
In another accident, a man identified as Babloo Vandwarkar (18), was admitted at Sassoon around 12.30 am after being hit by a speeding car. Vandwarkar, a resident of Saswad, was hit by the car while crossing the road at Belsar Phata.
The on-duty doctors said that he suffered severe head injuries and his condition was critical. "He is currently unconscious. We suspect that he has fractured a leg and has also sustained head injuries," said a doctor.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
