A team of east district police has arrested four accused for the same. The accused - Mahesh Sharma, Dinesh Sisodia, Dharmender and Mohd. Akram - were in the same business as Rajesh.
"In online trading you have various partners due to which understanding the whole process isn't easy," said Mohd. Asif, Additional DCP (East) Rakesh borrowed an amount of 9.10 lakh rupees from his friend Ajay for investing in shares.
Later, Rakesh passed on the same amount to Tavish who could not bring the amount back. Things worsened since Ajay had also borrowed the amount from Mahesh and this chain went on from Mahesh to Dinesh and then to Dharmender.

Consequently, as Rakesh had suffered losses many others were left searching for their money. Rakesh had a meeting with Ajay over the issue at PSK, Preet Vihar.
This meeting was just restricted between the two but somehow, the information of this meeting leaked to the other lenders and all of them along with their musclemen reached the spot with a plan to take back their money.
They kidnapped Rakesh and then began sending ransom calls to Rakesh's friends demanding some 10 lakh rupees to balance the loss they had suffered. Initially, the ransom calls kept tossing the police from one place to another place. Sometimes, the accused would ask Rakesh's friends' to meet them at ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Then they would change the location to Yamuna Vihar or Shastri Park.
"Kidnapping was the only way they thought they could recover the money. Dharmender and another accused kept the victim at his place," added the DCP. Finally, the accused were caught near Bhajanpura, trying to collect the ransom money.
