Opening soon in the city: Adventure park

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will open a new Adventure Thrill Park on the premises of Peshwe Park near Parvati by the end of the month.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will open a new Adventure Thrill Park on the premises of Peshwe Park near Parvati by the end of the month. The park, first of its kind, shall introduce a total of 300 adventure games for children between the age group of three to 12 years. Neelesh Nikam, former municipal standing committee chairman, had passed the resolution for such a unique park two years ago. "This is probably the first adventure park in the country," he said.

B S Deshmukh, a game expert who has been developing various games in the park, said the games would include net climbing, wall climbing, rock climbing, cycle on rope, vertical plays, tower jumping and many more. "These games shall inculcate confidence and concentration in children. About 90 per cent of the work for the adventure games park has been done and it may start soon," he said. "These games will give the kids insight into many complicated problems they may face."u00a0
