Removal from Lane No 1 in Koregaon Park happens after pvt guards stop PMC officer

PMC's Dhole Patil Road ward officer got a taste of the problems that locals face when he decided to drive down incognito to Osho International. Arun Bhilare's car was stopped and he was asked to use another road. Little wonder that PMC has now asked Osho ashram to remove the boom barricades on Lane 1 and 2.

PMC encroachment department took action the same evening. Khilari had received several complaints from locals about private security guards barring entry of passers-by. "The guards charged towards my driver. They were very rude to him too."

Khilariu00a0 said "The Traffic division of PMC furnished a No-Objection-Certificate to Osho International on the condition that they could erect barricades without inconveniencing the locals. But, they defied the NOC and erected permanent boom barricades. "

Recently, MiD DAY had reported about private security guards blocking roads and illegally forcing patients coming to Inlaks Budharani hospital to take a longer route. Osho International had erected barricades citing security reasons.u00a0 Following complaints from the residents, the barricades were removed for a while. But, they then replaced it by permanent boom barricades.
