PMC worker attacked by two with knuckle-dusters

A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) worker was severely injured when two people turned on him with a knuckle-duster in the wee hours today

The injured man, Sharad Vasant Jadhav, a Class IV employee of the PMC working at Dahanukar Colony in Kothrud, identified his assailants as Sumit Dnyaneshwar Mane and his brother Amit.



Jadhav sustained injuries on his chest, arm, nose and lips. He was admitted to Sassoon hospital.

Jadhav said he was woken up about 1 am at his home in Ganesh Nagar on Paud Road by the Manes, who started attacking him with a knuckle-duster.

Jadhav said his attackers threatened him with dire consequences if he approached the police.

The Kothrud police said they were investigating the incident after filing a case of assault against the Mane brothers.
