The JuD chief, in a tweet, alleged that the exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces was due to India "trying to shift focus from its internal problems and exploiting the sentiments against Pakistan and the LoC"
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder and 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has “challenged” the Indian government to prove that he was present near the Line of Control (LoC) a few days ago.

A day after Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that Saeed had visited Pakistan-administered Kashmir a few days before two Indian soldiers were killed by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jamat-ud-Dawah chief said in a tweet, “I CHALLENGE the Indian Government, its ministers & agencies to prove my presence near LOC or remain exposed as Liars in front of the world.”
Shinde had said that information about the movement of Saeed near the LoC was received by intelligence agencies and the government was trying to get details of his visit.
“(There) has been information that Saeed entered PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) and talked to some people,” Shinde said at a press conference here on Thursday.
The LeT founder termed it a “blatant lie” that he had visited Pakistan-administered Kashmir and said he was prepared to “accept every Indian allegation if they prove my alleged visit at the #LOC”.
In fact, a little after Shinde’s press conference on Thursday where he made the revelation about Saeed, the LeT founder tweeted, “We strongly reject Mr.Shinde spineless and fact less allegation of @HafizSaeedJUD involvement in LOC raid.”
Saeed also demanded that a UN probe be held into the ceasefire violations on the LoC as well as into “the injustice, rapes, mass-graves and abductions in Occupied #Kashmir”.
The JuD chief alleged the exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces was due to India “trying to shift focus from its internal problems of #Rape, #Communal Riots and exploiting the sentiments against #Pakistan #LOC”.
There has been an increase in border tensions between India and Pakistan following the Jan 6 killing of a Pakistani soldier, allegedly due to firing by Indian troops, on the LoC that divides Kashmir between the two neighbours. On Jan 8, two Indian soldiers were killed and beheaded by Pakistani troops in Poonch sector.
Pakistan has alleged that Indian troops killed a Pakistani soldier in firing on Thursday and lodged a protest with the Indian envoy in Islamabad.
India should take ‘hard’ stand: SRK
Reacting to reports about the barbaric killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops at the LoC, Shah Rukh Khan says he feels deeply sad, and India should take a ‘hard’ stand.
“I have been watching TV, where people are saying "haan sabak sikha denge” (let’s teach them a lesson). That is completely wrong. It is sad, soldiers should not die for unnecessary reasons. We should take a hard stand. We should be very clear and whoever does wrong, should have to account for it and be put to the test. As an Indian, I am deeply saddened,” Khan said.
