“By insulting and sidelining senior party (BJP) leaders, Modi has shown that he doesn’t want competitors,” said CM Chavan. He even compared Modi with Adolf Hitler, stating that though Germans elected Hitler through a democratic process, he became a dictator.
“Modi always compares development in Gujarat and Maharashtra. It’s an open challenge from me to him. I can show that Maharashtra is better developed than Gujarat,” Chavan said.
Sharad Pawar too lashed out at Modi. He said people should not elect a party whose prime ministerial candidate believes in regionalism. He was speaking in context to the probe ordered by the Gujarat government against Gujarat Milk Federation for providing free fodder to the state, when several parts experienced drought-like situation in 2013.
“When earthquake hit Gujarat in 2001, our government dispatched help to the affected people without a second thought. However, when their milk federation helped us during our tough time, the Gujarat government filed criminal cases against it,” Pawar said.
