Pune: Two-year-old goes missing; found dead in underground water tank

A two-year-old boy, who went missing while he was playing outside his house, was found dead in an underground water tank on Sunday morning. The police have identified the boy as Subhash Gaurav Tiwari

A two-year-old boy, who went missing while he was playing outside his house, was found dead in an underground water tank on Sunday morning. The police have identified the boy as Subhash Gaurav Tiwari. The incident took place in Dighi in Charoli. At present a case of accidental death has been registered with the Dighi police station.

The boy's father, Gaurav, who works with a private company, had come to Pune from Uttar Pradesh two months ago. Gaurav said, "We came to Pune in order to give our son a good education and a future.

On Sunday, my wife was feeding him lunch and had just gone to turn off the gas. When she returned he was missing. Later, we searched everywhere and assumed that our son had been kidnapped and approached the police." He added, "Later, during the search, when the police opened the lid of our underground water tanker, we found him inside. The police have said he may have fallen inside as he has head injuries. They are probing."

According to the police, "We have registered a case of accidental death at present and are probing the case."
