Pune bids adieu to Little Master

As master blaster Sachin Tendulkar takes the field for the last time at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai to play his 200th test match and the final one of his cricketing career today, his fans in the city are leaving no stone unturned to bid a perfect adieu to the legend.u00a0

Blades of Glory, a museum dedicated to cricket, would be displaying a few of Sachin’s historic memorabilia starting today. Rohan Pate, museum founder, said, “We certainly want to give a perfect tribute to Sachin, in our way.

The museum is known for displaying all sorts of memorabilia of various cricketers from across the world. We also have Sachin’s exclusive stuff here on display for public. This time, to give him the perfect farewell and involve citizens in it, we have something special.

From this India-West Indies Test match, starting today, we will be adding the master blaster’s jersey he wore during the world cup, plus the jersey he wore when he scored his 50th Test century, his gloves and bat.”

Pate said he was extremely happy and proud of the fact that his museum would be displaying memorabilia autographed by Tendulkar, which were collected painstakingly over the years.

He added that museum had also arranged a lucky draw for hardcore Tendulkar fans and gave away free tickets for today’s test match to the winners who had visited the museum till Wednesday.

Bhagyashri Dixit, who owns an online shopping portal ‘SheepStop’, did her bit to come up with her perfect goodbye for Tendulkar. u00a0She put up a special collection of T-shirts, ‘MasterBlaster’, dedicated to Tendulkar for sale on her portal.

The apparel has mention of Tendulkar’s ODI records. “There is a huge demand for the T-shirt, which costs Rs 500. This particular T-shirt has been a huge hit. Considering the growing demand, we also made it available in some stores in the city and Mumbai. Being a Sachin fan, I think this is our way of giving him a fitting tribute.”

City restaurants were not far behind in expressing their gratitude towards Tendulakar. While Khandani Rajdhani and Mad Over Donuts would be having special offers and discounts on November 18, Pebbles Restaurant has organised the weeklong Little Master’s Festival. u00a0
