"The number of e-ticketing reservations to the North and North-East of the country has gone up considerably. It could be related to the rise in Northerners shifting to Pune to work in the IT and other sectors," explained Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Pune Division) Ashok Malhotra.
https://www.irtc.co.in/ is the official website for online booking.
However, there are a few problems that Puneities are facing while booking tickets online. Sameer Godse, a media and communication professional who used the facility quite often, said, "Though online booking save a lot of time, the website is quite slow. It may be due to the high traffic but the railways should do some thing about it."
Likewise, Nandini Gangal who's associated with the tourism industry, said, "The site is very slow. Besides, when we use the dial-up Internet connection, it takes a long time for the page to get loaded."
