Punish wrongdoers but no witch-hunting: Dikshit

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who has been under attack over the Shunglu Committee report, said on Tuesday that those involved in wrongdoings in CWG projects must be punished but at the same time care should be taken to ensure that innocent do not face any harassment

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who has been under attack over the Shunglu Committee report, said on Tuesday that those involved in wrongdoings in CWG projects must be punished but at the same time care should be taken to ensure that innocent do not face any harassment.



"The guilty must be punished but we must be careful to see that officials who are not involved in any wrongdoing and who put all hard work to make the event successful do not face any harassment," Dikshit said.

She was asked to comment on the Prime Minister's Office referring the Shunglu Committee findings to the Home Ministry for further action on alleged irregularities in certain Commonwealth Games projects implemented by Delhi Government.

The PMO has asked Home Ministry to send its reply on the queries raised by the Shunglu panel in works done by the city government controlled departments.
