Gandhi will take some time to recover from the injury and he has been advised complete rest, sources said today. The AICC general secretary's absence from the Lower House yesterday was noticed by many as he is known to diligently attend all important events in Parliament.
Rahul had attended Parliament on Friday during the Railway Budget presentation even after hurting his leg but was seen having some trouble while moving. Later, he underwent an X-ray which showed he had a fracture in his right leg, sources said. He is reported to have hurt himself during an exercise session a few days ago.
A number of Congress leaders, who were asked about Rahul's absence, were clueless but said some compelling reason may have forced him to miss the Budget presentation. The injury is likely to disrupt Rahul's plans to visit some states in the next few weeks including the Goa trip in the first week of this month. He was scheduled to address a youth convention in Goa this week, as part of his nation-wide tour to meet and interact with youth.
