Rajya Sabha, at an extended session on Wednesday night, passed the relevant bills, with Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha describing the budget as aimed at upliftment of the poor.
Relying to the debate on the Budget, Sinha said the government has done well in managing inflation and prices of most commodities with the exception of pulses have either come down or remained stable.
"This Budget is for the upliftment of the country," he said, adding the proposals have focused on the poor and the farm sector. Lok Sabha passed the Appropriation Bill 2016-17 on Monday.
