Actress defies swine flu fears to promote her new film and talks fondly about Durga Puja and her future plans to Shree Lahiri

The actress said the swine flu pandemic did not even cross her mind when she decided to visit Pune. "It was only after I landed at the airport and saw people wearing masks, that it struck me", Rani told MiD DAY. "I know about the swine flu scare in Pune, but there is nothing to be scared of. Jab jaana hai tab jaana hoga," added the Bengali beauty.

True Bengali
She said she loves festivals and can't wait for Durga Puja. "I wait for it every year. I love wearing saris, love the Bong atmosphere in the pandals and love to eat bhog. I'm looking forward to having fun with my family," said Rani with a twinkle in her eyes.

The actress who has been acclaimed for her acting prowess over the years is visibly excited about Dil bole Hadippa and says she had a blast shooting for it. "I feel I've done a great thing by doing Dil bole Hadippa. It's for my audience. The boy's role came naturally to me and I did not have to do any research. But yes, I had to do a lot of research about cricket. It was a great challenge and it took me six months to learn how to play cricket," explained Rani.

Amid waving to the crowds and signing autographs at the Fame Fun & Shop multiplex at Fatima Nagar, she also spoke fondly about her co-star Shahid Kapur who could not be with her for the promotion, as he was busy with other commitments. "We had a lot of fun. Every day, we had fun moments," said Rani about working with Shahid.

Challenges
The actress may have done a variety of roles in her long career, but there's still something she wishes to do. "I'm dying to do an action film. I'd love to learn martial arts or karate and I'd actually jump for my scenes," signed off Rani with her million-dollar smile.
