Cops release sketch of third suspect; raids continue in Delhi and Haryana

There seems to be some headway in the probe of the Dhaula Kuan gangrape case. Delhi police released the sketch of a third suspect apart from claiming that a Mahindra pick-up truck has been recovered that might have been used by the rapists. Four men abducted and raped a 30-year-old BPO employee last week. The vehicle was found in Mangolpuri area of outer Delhi where the victim was abandoned by the culprits.

Police had also detained some people for questioning, but they were released later. Raids are still being carried out in the Capital and parts of Haryana in search of the suspects.

Sources say Delhi police personnel are under immense pressure from their seniors as no arrests have been made in the case so far. South Delhi police has created many teams in search of the culprits.

"We have seized a Mahindra vehicle but are not sure whether this was actually used in the commission of crime or not. We have detained four more persons in this connection and are interrogating them. Investigation is in full swung," said a senior police official.

Meanwhile, a police source from outer Delhi said that cops have questioned about a 1000 labourers working with the factories of the area and their owner to get a breakthrough in the incident.
I m sorry

The Delhi police is expected to get a breakthrough very soon in the case of abduction and rape of a Mizo woman in south Delhi, home minister P Chidambaram has said. The home minister also regretted the incident.
"I am sorry for what happened in 5-6 days ago. Contrary to press reports, I think they (police) are pretty close to apprehending the suspect," he said. Delhi police has said that 15 teams are working on the case and they are looking into all aspects.
