Tamhini Dongarwadi Trek
Situated about 60 km from Pune, the Tamhini area has been a favorite hotspot for nature lovers. It offers excellent views of verdant valleys, cascading waterfalls and evergreen forests. It has dense evergreen forests where you can go for bird-watching. Visit the sacred grove behind the Vinjai Devi temple. Tamhini is also home to beautiful monsoon flora and au00a0 trail through Devrai can reveal interesting plants, ferns and fungi.

Tikona Fort Trek
This adventure group organises treks and allied adventure sports. Their aim is to teach youth how to relate to nature. Join their trip to visit Tikona Hill fort in Maval, which is near Kamshet and around 60 km from Pune. The 3,500 feet high hill is shaped like a pyramid and the name Tikona means triangle. The nearest village is named Tikona-Peth. The fort is known for the huge gates, the temple of Trimbakeshwar Mahadev, a water tank and some Satvahan caves. It also offers a view of Pawna Dam and nearby forts of Tung, Lohagad and Visapur. Don't miss the lake at the summit.

Trek to Sudhagad Fort
Pugmarks Holidays are involved in eco-tourism. They conduct camps for youngsters at places ranging from the snow-clad Himalayan mountains to the coral islands of Lakshadweep and from the estuaries of Sunderbans to the deserts of the Rann of Kutch. This August, they are headed to Sudhagad Fort, which is a rarely-visited fort in the Konkan region. Located near Pali, about 80 km from Pune, this 2,000 feet high fort has three doors and one of them is known as the Maha Darwaja. A big plateau on the fort houses temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has an Ambar Khana where elephants were kept in ancient times. The main temple of the fort is dedicated to Bhorai Devi. Other memorable spots on the fort are the Echo Point and Takmak Tok.

Rappelling at Torna Waterfall
