Wipro employees and their families will come together on Saturday, October 2 to take part in a marathon called the Spirit of Wipro Run.

This year will be different from the last four with the run going global in 20 different countries around the world.
Sachin Mulay, the brain behind the Spirit of Wipro Run and general manager of Brand and Communications, said, "This will be different compared to our last four editions because we're going global this year."

He added, "This year, we expect about 18,000 people to run unlike last year when it was just 7,000."

Thousands of people flocked to the Spirit of Wipro Run that was held in the city last year.

He added, "Globally it should be about 19,000 runners. This year, the donations we receive from the marathon will be used to plant tress in the city. Other countries will support causes they choose."

Devika Rajeev (23), an HR manager, said, "I'm very excited because this is my first time in a marathon. I will walk if I can't run in the 4 km run."

The run will take place in 10 Indian cities that include Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai among others.

While countries like the US, UK, Australia, Portugal, Spain and Poland will make up for the 20 international countries.
